| Remember
that you are traveling to a foreign country and you're goal
is to leave there safely and properly with your |
 |
child. Not only do you represent IAAP but also the entire
United States. Therefore, it is important that we conduct
ourselves properly. Here are some |
| guidelines
to follow so that your trip will be a safe and successful
one: |
| |
| Do
not bring along any religious material or make any attempt
to inject either religious or political themes into your activities.
|
| |
| Do
not make any comments that should not be over heard or say
anything critical even to those working for us. When in
the presence of the Vietnamese people always assume
that they may speak or at least understand English. |
| |
| Do
not make any jokes about security, bombs or guns as you pass
through airport security checkpoints. |
| |
Keep your luggage with you at all times. Unattended
luggage could be seized by security and destroyed. |
| Move
quickly from gate to gate and stay with the group. We
will not have time to hunt for people. |
 |
| |
| Get
on the plane as scheduled if you should arrive at one of
the airports before the rest of the group. If others
have been delayed they will be re-routed to the final destination.
|
| |
| If
your bags are searched when you go through customs upon
entering the country don't try to stop them or be too helpful.
Just let them look through and don't volunteer any information.
If you are asked a question answer that question only and
no more. Don't try to engage in small talk with them. Follow
the same guidelines when leaving the country. |
| |
| Keep
a small amount of money accessible so that you do not
have to expose your wallet or all of your money when making
a purchase and men should carry their wallets in their front
pockets. This will make it difficult for a pickpocket. |
 |
Do
not eat food prepared by street vendors, drink only bottled
water, eat only food that is hot or that you can peel, use
no ice, and drink only canned or bottled soft drinks and
beer. |
And of
course, always use common sense!
